The Community Foundation of the Virginias, Inc. on-line scholarships are now available for students to begin completing. Here is the link to our website www.cfvinc.org. Please note that in addition to college scholarships, we have specific scholarships that are only available to Vocational and Technical students who want to continue their training.
I have attached a spreadsheet with all of the 53 available scholarships listed for each high school in our area. Simply pull up your high school’s name from the workbook. This spreadsheet is a quick check for the students to see exactly which scholarships they are eligible to apply for.
When students sign in, they will see a screen with specific instructions. Students should only mark “YES” if they are eligible for that particular scholarship. Students tend to mark “Yes” for eligibility, even if they are not eligible. This year, if the student marks “Yes” and is NOT eligible they will need to correct their application before it is submitted. Also, only one college may be listed on their application. If the student submits the application and they decide to go to a different college, the student must immediately notify the foundation of the change of schools. If the student receives a scholarship and the scholarship check is already written to the college that the student has indicated on their application and the check has to be voided and reissued to a different college, the student will need to pay a $50 reissue fee for the check to be reissued to a different college. Last year, the Foundation had to void 19 checks for this reason.
The deadline for scholarships to be submitted is March 31, 2026. All scholarships require recommendations and they will also need to be received by midnight on March 31, 2026 for the application to be complete and submitted for review. All applications also require the school counselor to submit on-line information about the applicant.
