About Ms. Brinkley: When I started my journey as a school counselor, I always wondered how I would make a difference in the lives of my students. From an interim school counselor at Bland County High School, VA to working at my high school alma mater, I have been blessed to know so many wonderful students. My time at Bland, PikeView, and now Princeton has taught me that the students make a difference in my life too. When I’m not at school, I love spending time with family, friends, my dogs (Teddy and Bucky), traveling, reading, and playing video games.
Counseling Philosophy: Over the past six years, I have worked diligently to provide a safe and nurturing counseling environment that is inclusive of all students. My counseling philosophy is based on Adlerian Theory and Solution-Focused Brief Counseling. By implementing these theories, I work to develop a counselor-student relationship that is grounded in rapport and mutual respect. I hope all students know they are welcome in my office and that I will always advocate on their behalf.
