Big Future

BigFuture is a free online resource from the College Board designed to help students plan for life after high school, whether they are interested in a four-year university, community college, or career training. The platform offers tools and resources for career exploration, college planning, and figuring out how to pay for a post-secondary education.

Key features of BigFuture include:

  • Career exploration: Students can take a career quiz to get personalized career suggestions based on their interests and strengths. They can also access detailed profiles for over 1,000 careers, which include information on salaries, education requirements, and job outlook.
  • College search and planning: The college search tool allows students to filter through more than 3,000 two- and four-year colleges based on preferences such as location, cost, and majors offered. Students can also view videos from current students talking about their campus experiences.
  • Scholarship and financial aid search: BigFuture provides access to information on financial aid, including a scholarship database that lists over 24,000 scholarships. It also includes a guide on how to complete the Free Application for Federal Student Aid (FAFSA).
  • BigFuture Scholarships: By completing specific college and career planning steps on the platform, students in grades 10–12 can enter monthly drawings for $500 and $40,000 scholarships. There is no essay, minimum GPA, or test score requirement.
  • Personalized action plan: Students receive a customizable dashboard that provides a clear and actionable path for preparing for life after high school.
  • Parent and educator resources: BigFuture offers resources to help parents, guardians, and educators support students through the planning process.
