We are excited to invite your high school sophomores, juniors, and seniors to the Marshall University Cyber Experience, taking place on Wednesday, October 8th, from 8:00am to 12:30pm at Marshall University.
We hosted this event last semester and received wonderful feedback from students and schools who attended. We’re thrilled to offer it again this fall to give even more students the chance to experience cybersecurity firsthand.
This event is designed for high school sophomores, juniors, and seniors who are curious about a career in cyber or aren’t sure where they fit in quite yet. At this event, students will have the chance to:
- Check in at the Memorial Student Center (1 John Marshall Dr. Huntington, WV 25755), where our staff and student volunteers will guide them through the day’s activities.
- Participate in hands-on demos using tools and techniques taught in our cyber forensics and cybersecurity classes.
- Explore our state-of-the-art labs, including our Security Operations Center (SOC) Lab and digital forensics labs.
- Take part in a tour of campus provided by Marshall’s Recruitment team.
- Apply to Marshall on-site, free of charge (application fee waived for attendees).
For this event, we ask that students bring a laptop for the activities. If they are unable to, please let us know in advance so we can make accommodations.
Students can register for the event by scanning the QR code on the attached flyer or by following the registration link included on the flyer.
We encourage you to share this opportunity with students who may be interested in a career in cybersecurity or who are still exploring their options. It’s an engaging, hands-on way to discover the exciting possibilities in this booming field.
If you need any additional information or have any questions about this event, please feel free to contact me at [email protected].
